The maximum dose is 80 mg per administration. This regimen should be followed on Days 1-5 and Days 8-12 of each 28-day cycle. Treatment continues until the disease progresses or unacceptable side effects occur. Dosages should be rounded to the nearest 5 mg.
- Treatment with Lonsurf tablets can cause severe bone marrow suppression, leading to neutropenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia. Monitor blood counts before and during treatment. Dose modifications or discontinuation may be required if severe hematologic toxicity occurs.
- Trifluridine and Tipiracil can cause fetal harm when administered to pregnant women. Advise females of reproductive potential to use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 6 months after the final dose.
- Lonsurf may harm a breastfeeding infant, as it can be excreted in breast milk. Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with Lonsurf and for one day following the last dose. Patients should be advised to either discontinue breastfeeding or discontinue the drug, considering the drug’s importance to the mother.
