Xospata is a kinase inhibitor used for the treatment of adult patients who have relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with a FLT3 mutation. 

Recommended Dosage: The recommended starting dose of Xospata tablets is 120 mg orally once daily with or without food. In the absence of disease progression or unacceptable toxicity, treatment for a minimum of six months is recommended to allow time for a clinical response.  

Do not break or crush tablets. Administer tablets orally persistently each day. If a dose is missed or not taken at the usual scheduled time, administer the dose of Xospata as promptly as possible on the same day, and at least 12 hours before the very next scheduled dose. Go back with the normal dosing schedule the following day. Do not take a couple of doses within 12 hours.

• Evaluate blood counts and blood chemistries, including creatine phosphokinase, before the initiation of Xospata 40 mg, at least once weekly for the 1’st month, once every other week for the 2’nd month, and once monthly throughout the therapy.
• Gilteritinib has been related to prolonged cardiac ventricular repolarization (QT interval). Perform ECG or electrocardiogram before starting therapy with gilteritinib, on days 8’th and 15’th of cycle first, and before the initiation of the next 2 subsequent cycles. 
• Hypokalemia or hypomagnesemia may be responsible for increasing the QT prolongation risk. Correct hypokalemia or hypomagnesemia before and throughout the administration of medicine.
• Patients taking therapy with xospata 40 mg tablet may experience pancreatitis. Assess patients who develop signs/symptoms of pancreatitis. Interrupt and reduce the xospata dose in those who develop pancreatitis. 
• Based on findings and its mechanism of action, Gilteritinib can cause embryo-fetal harm if used by a pregnant woman. Females of reproductive age should use appropriate contraception during therapy and for at least six months after the last dose of Gilteritinib. 
• Breastfeeding is not recommended. Due to the potential for serious side effects in a breastfed child, a lactating woman should not breastfeed throughout the therapy and for at least 2 months after the final dose.
