Medical Uses

Miplyffa (arimoclomol) is used for use in combination with miglustat for the treatment of neurological manifestations of Niemann-Pick disease type C (NPC) in adult and pediatric patients aged 2 years and older.

Recommended Dosage: The recommended oral dosage of Arimoclomol, together with miglustat, for patients with an actual body weight of 8-15 kg is 47 mg three times daily, > 15-30 kg is 62 mg three times daily, > 30-55 kg is 93 mg three times daily, and > 55 kg is 124 mg three times daily. Administer dosage with or without food. Swallow the capsules whole.
In case a dose is missed, the patient should skip the missed dose and resume taking the prescribed dose at the next scheduled time.

Warning & Precautions

Arimoclomol may cause critical hypersensitivity reactions, including swelling, rash, or difficulty breathing. Stop treatment promptly if symptoms arise. Individuals with known hypersensitivity to arimoclomol or its components should not use this medication. Seek immediate medical attention in case reactions occur.
Treatment with Miplyffa 47 mg/62 mg/93 mg/124 mg may harm an unborn baby. Women of childbearing age should use appropriate contraception during treatment and for a certain period after the final dose. Pregnant women should not use this medicine unless necessary.
This therapeutic drug may increase the levels of serum creatinine, which generally does not reflect impaired kidney function. Regularly monitor renal parameters to ensure safety during treatment, mainly in those with pre-existing or any known kidney conditions.
The use of Arimoclomol is not recommended during breastfeeding because of the potential risk to the nursing infant. Nursing mothers should consult their doctor to weigh the benefits of treatment against potential harm and use available alternative feeding options if necessary.
