• Treatment of recurrent pericarditis (RP) and reduction in risk of recurrence in adults and children aged 12 years and older.

• Interleukin-1 (IL-1) blockade may interfere with the immune response to infections. Treatment with another medicine that works through inhibition of IL-1 may increase the risk of serious infections. Treatment with Arcalyst 220 mg should not be started in patients with an active or chronic infection. Discontinue treatment if a patient develops a critical infection.
• The impact of treatment with Arcalyst 220 mg injection on the development of malignancies is unknown. Treatment with immunosuppressants, including Arcalyst, may cause an increase in the risk of malignancies.
• Hypersensitivity reactions associated with the medicine Arcalyst may occur. If a hypersensitivity reaction occurs, discontinue treatment and initiate appropriate/relevant therapy.
• Cholesterol and lipid levels may be decreased in those with chronic inflammation. Increases in non-fasting lipid profile parameters may occur in those treated with rilonacept. Assess patients’ lipid profiles and consider lipid-lowering therapies in case required, on behalf of cardiovascular risk factors and current guidelines.
