Hemacord (HPC, Cord Blood), is an allogeneic cord blood hematopoietic progenitor cell therapy approved for use in unrelated donor hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation procedures in conjunction with an appropriate preparative regimen for hematopoietic and immunologic reconstitution in patients with disorders affecting the hematopoietic system that are inherited, acquired, or result from myeloablative treatment.
Recommended Dosage: Hemacord (HPC, Cord Blood) is for intravenous use only Do not irradiate it. The recommended minimum dose is 2.5 x 107 nucleated cells/kg at cryopreservation. Do not administer this therapeutic drug through the same tubing with other products except for normal saline. Unit selection and administration must be done under the direction of a physician experienced in hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation.
- Hemacord may cause severe allergic reactions. Signs include rash, hives, swelling, and difficulty breathing. Administer appropriate premedications and have emergency treatments available.

- Primary or secondary graft failure may occur, resulting in incomplete or delayed hematologic recovery. Regular monitoring of blood counts is necessary, and contingency plans should be in place.
- There is a risk of transferring malignant cells from the donor to the recipient. Regular long-term follow-up is essential for early detection and management.
- Hemacord can transmit bacterial, viral, fungal, or parasitic infections. Thorough screening of the cord blood and prophylactic antimicrobials are recommended.
