- Hypersensitivity reactions may occur in Aphexda-treated patients. Monitor patients for signs or symptoms of hypersensitivity reactions for one hour following administration of Aphexda and manage reactions immediately.
- Injection site reactions may occur in patients receiving Aphexda. Symptoms of injection site reactions included pain, bruising, discomfort, erythema, pruritus, induration, mass, nodule, rash, swelling, and urticaria. Premedicate with an analgesic medicine (e.g., acetaminophen) before each dose of Aphexda. Use analgesic medicine and local treatments postdose, as required.
- Administration of Aphexda injection along with filgrastim increases circulating leukocytes as well as HSC populations. Monitor white blood cell counts (CBC) during Aphexda use.
- For hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) mobilization, Aphexda may cause mobilization of leukemic cells and subsequent contamination of the apheresis product. Therefore, this drug is not intended for HSC mobilization and harvest in those with leukemia.
- Motixafortide can be responsible for causing fetal harm if administered to a pregnant woman. Females of reproductive potential should use effective contraception during treatment and for 8 days after the final dose.
